Funding Information: Male infants delivered by mothers participating in the Maternal-Infant Research on Environmental Chemicals Infant Development cohort (MIREC-ID) were assessed at birth. Details about the design of the MIREC Research Platform have been published elsewhere [ 22 ]. In summary, 1983 healthy pregnant women from 10 Canadian cities were recruited to participate from 2008 to 2011. Eligibility criteria included ability to communicate in English or French, age > 18 years, gestational age < 14 weeks. Ethics approval was obtained from Health Canada and participating sites. Women with significant medical conditions or carrying fetuses with major abnormalities were excluded. The study received funding from the Canadian Institute for Health Research and Health Canada.
