Health authorities in BC are funded by the Provincial Ministry of Health. NPs are salaried employees of health authorities. They practice in acute and long-term care and in PHC settings. This study was conducted in 2009 and, at that time, the NP role was relatively new to the province of BC, and there were less than 200 NPs registered in the Province [12].",
